Last night there was a full moon.  Farmers would call the full moon in autumn the “Harvest Moon” because they would work at night by the light of the moon  to bring in their harvest.   This year 2010 was quite unique because the full moon coincided with the autumnal equinox so it was called the “Super Harvest Moon”.  This is the first time this has happened in more than two decades.  So take a moment to enjoy the full moon of fall…it’s a beautiful sight and even with clouds, there is an eerie, “other world” feeling that we live in a universe of vastness and wonder.  And give an early special thanksgiving for the farmers, for their hard work, for their harvest that feeds us, and for God who makes it all possible.

He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate – bringing forth food from the earth.  Psalm 104:14
