How weak was Jesus on the cross?

I am thinking of the crucifixion. The utter pain and agony. The desperation and despair. The surrender and sacrifice. How weak did Jesus have to be to endure the cross?  How much restraint and resolve did He have to have to die for me?

The crucifixion reminds me that Christ endured to the end. He died as He lived. He always endured temptation to the end. With strength and control. With infinite love and wisdom. Sinless. How weak was Jesus on the cross?  He was “weak” enough to be crucified…to DIE.

I can’t fully comprehend that, because to endure temptation to the end means to push through much, much longer than I have ever endured. To push through temptation, no matter how strong, and not sin…even to death.

Lord God, help me to endure to the end. Not by might or power but my Your Spirit. I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. Thank you that the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.
