Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.
Psalm 23:4

Have you ever experienced the valley of the shadow of death?  Maybe. Maybe not.  But if you have and if you were not afraid and if God was with you, you would read this verse with new meaning.  Your faith would be real.  The reality of this verse would be yours.

So do we have to experience EVERY verse in the Bible for it to be ours – for it to have truth for me?  No, not at all.  That’s when and where our faith becomes real – when we know God’s word is true whether we have experienced it yet or not.

Psalm 23:4 crystallized the Bible for me, because I experienced it.  But now I want to believe every word of the Bible without having to experience it.  That is real faith.  That is real joy.  That is abundant life.  That is walking with God.

Think about it!

All scripture in the Bible is inspired by God.  It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness2 Timothy 3:17
